The anchorage is located in dry Haspengouw, an area in the Tienen-Maastricht-Liège-Namur quadrilateral. More specifically, the anchorage belongs to the Tongeren-Borgloon orchard area. It stretches along the stream called "de Herk", locally called "Molenbeek" at the border between the villages of Gelinden, a borough of Sint-Truiden, and Klein Gelmen, a borough of Heers.
