De ankerplaats bevindt zich in droog Haspengouw, een gebied in de vierhoek Tienen-Maastricht-Luik-Namen. Meer bepaald behoort de ankerplaats tot het boomgaardgebied Tongeren-Borgloon. Zij strekt zich uit langs de beek genaamd “de Herk”,ter plaatse “Molenbeek" genaamd bij de grens tussen de dorpen Gelinden, een deelgemeente van Sint-Truiden, en Klein Gelmen, een deelgemeente van Heers.
