Lost gardens, with interesting development. Initially a water fortress of feudal origin with a lower court/upper court structure, where gardens were laid out in the first half of the 16th century. Since the beginning of the 17th century, the commandery of the Teutonic Order (Alden Biesen). Since the French Revolution, the castle domain of the Pitteurs Hiégaerts family, expanded by the incorporation of the old village church, alteration of the initial structure, and new garden layout. Due to significant war damage, partial reconstruction but loss of the rich interior of the castle, the art collection, part of the lower court buildings, and the renowned gardens.
