Maes and Boereboomplein nr. 1. Former town hall of Heist, built in 1931-1932 at the behest of architects L. Bailyu (Heist) and F. Langeraert (Ghent) and executed by contractor C. Van Haverbeke (Middelkerke). Modernist building consisting of a main building with a elaborately designed entrance featuring stairs and beautiful wrought iron doors, and a tower, inspired by the tower of the Town Hall of Hilversum at the behest of architect W. Dudok from 1924-1930. A cultural center "Ravelingen" was built on the south facade of the town hall in 1992, commissioned by the architectural firm A2 Office (Knokke-Heist). LANNOY D., Knokke-Heist.
