Description

So-called "Hof ten Berg". Formerly probably a closed farmhouse with buildings from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries grouped around the paved courtyard. The entrance gate and the flanking buildings are recent, including the spacious cowshed from the early 20th century, vaulted with brick trough vaults with iron girders supported by iron columns. Single-storey farmhouse of seven bays with a gable roof (artificial slate), with a traditional core rising to the 17th-18th century, but with a new façade with rectangular wall openings of bluestone. The rear façade preserves two barred cloister window frames and a cross window with quarter-hollow course, sandstone frame, with thumbs and a single or double relieving arch of a roll layer. Inside, a very wide fireplace with still Gothic profiled posts. Right side gable finished with braiding. To the left, in extension, a four-bay-wide stable wing with a gable roof (tiled), supported by profiled cornice beams, dating from the second half of the 18th century. Whitewashed brick construction on a projecting plinth with a quarter-round profile of sandstone. Four arched doors of sandstone enriched with negro blocks at the narrow posts and with a profiled drip moulding. A similar door in the rear façade. Leaning longitudinal barn with gable roof (corrugated iron and tiles), dating from the second half of the 18th century. Right side gable with braiding and equipped with a 1950 dating wooden gate in a brick frame but with the beginning of a sandstone post. Left side gable with stretched edge finish; shoulder pads on the field side. On the yard side, open driveway with wooden beams supported by a round brick pillar. Rear façade supported by low buttresses finished with wickerwork and equipped with a door as in the adjoining stable. Classic roof trusses with numerous counting marks, incised letters, names and dates, including: "C.V.G. 1788", "C.V.D. 1788", "17.., .1853", "Antonis Biesemans twede Ioannes Biesemans 1841", "Pieter Verdood 1837" and so on. Detached bakehouse with gable roof (tiles), from the 19th century.
