Abroxmolen

Former water mill (oil and grain mill) of the undershot type on the Abeek. The mill probably belonged to the above-mentioned late court of Abroek. First mentioned in 1775. In 1845 it was owned by W. Gysen, in 1884 by the Steyven family. It was a turbine mill, the millwork of which on a wooden crane is dated 1894; The turbine wheel and part of the millwork were retained. The mill was completely rebuilt in 1910 and replaces a half-timbered building. After the diversion of the Abeek in 1961, the mill was out of use. The mill is part of a two-tier farmhouse, almost completely renovated. The mill house is a deep house (ridge perpendicular to the Abeek) of three bays and two storeys under a gable roof (Flemish tiles); the Abeek originally ran underneath the mill house. Brick building, equipped with wrought iron wall anchors. Arched wall openings. Side walls with canopy, braids, top piece and shoulder pieces. The turbine wheel is located in a small extension under a lame gable roof against the rear façade.
