The Rivierenhof, just outside the center of Antwerp, is one of those wonderful places where you can still walk, experience culture, romp or play sports in the green.
In 1514 there is already talk of an estate "Ter Rivieren" near the Grote Schijn. In the 17th and 18th centuries it was owned by the Antwerp Jesuits. In 1773 the order was dissolved and the banker J.B. Cogels had the monastery building converted into a summer residence. It is none other than the court architect of Louis XVI who will make the design.
Today you can have a drink on the terrace.
