The chapel of Wideux is located on the territory of the municipality of Sint-Lambrechts-Herk in Hasselt. This large chapel is part of the 18th-century castle of Wideux, which was partly demolished in 1970. The chapel of Wideux tells the story of the ghost oak. No matter how many people tried to move a felled oak tree, it always rolled back to its original location. An explanation for this event was found in the fact that ghosts used to be banished to this oak. To avoid rolling with the oak, the castle inhabitant had a fence placed around the chapel.
