A woman from Velm had a child. He had died without having received baptism. The mother prayed to Our Lady, who brought the child back to life. However, when there was a typhus epidemic in neighboring Montenaken, the inhabitants brought the statue of the Virgin Mary there. But when the epidemic was over, they didn't want to bring it back. But the statue of the Virgin Mary went back to Kerkom on its own.
