Nature Education Centre 'Castle of Poeke'

When you stand in front of the Poeke castle with its pink façade, you would swear to be at the Loire and one of its many castles. It is not the famous French castle river, but the modest Poekebeek that ripples along its walls. Around the castle is the beautiful wooded Poekepark where you can enjoy nature and silence for hours. The Poeke castle has its origins in the eleventh century but its peak under Victor Pycke de Peteghem who bought the castle in 1872. In the former coach house you can visit the Nature Education Center where you can view the story of the landscape formation in Poeke and the surrounding area. Poeke was once sung by Guido Gezelle and still exudes a lot of atmosphere.
