Quando ti trovi davanti al Castello di Poeke con la sua facciata rosa, potresti giurare di essere sulla Loira e in uno dei suoi tanti castelli. Non è il famoso fiume dei castelli francesi, ma il modesto Poekebeek che scorre lungo le sue mura. Attorno al castello si trova il meraviglioso parco boscoso di Poeke, dove puoi goderti la natura e il silenzio per ore. Il Castello di Poeke ha origine nell'undicesimo secolo, ma raggiunse il suo apice sotto Victor Pycke de Peteghem, che acquistò il castello nel 1872. Nella precedente scuderia puoi visitare il Centro di Educazione Ambientale, dove puoi scoprire la storia della formazione del paesaggio a Poeke e nei dintorni. Poeke è stato un tempo cantato da Guido Gezelle e irraggia ancora molto fascino.
