Wanneer je voor het Poekekasteel met zijn roze gevel staat, zou je zweren je bij de Loire en één van zijn vele kastelen te bevinden. Het is niet de bekende Franse kasteelrivier, maar de bescheiden Poekebeek die langs haar muren kabbelt. Rond het kasteel ligt het prachtige bosrijke Poekepark waar je urenlang kunt genieten van de natuur en de stilte. Het Poekekasteel kent zijn oorsprong in de elfde eeuw maar zijn hoogtepunt onder Victor Pycke de Peteghem die het kasteel in 1872 kocht. In het voormalige koetshuis kan je het Natuureducatief Centrum bezoeken waar je het verhaal van de landschapsvorming in Poeke en omgeving kunt bekijken. Poeke werd ooit bezongen door Guido Gezelle en straalt nog steeds heel wat sfeer uit.
