The majestic dome of the equally majestic Almshouse dominates the entire village view of Sint-Laureins. The building was erected to serve as an orphanage. Soon a monastery was housed in it.
Since 1992, the building has been in terrible disrepair. Fortunately, a few years ago, two courageous project developers bought the building and began a laborious restoration. Now several banquet halls have been set up in the impressive building.
