At the top, you can catch your breath at café In den hengst, a café that exudes tranquility, coziness, and authenticity. Everyone immediately feels at home there. It feels more like being in a living room where you gather around the Leuven stew. They haven't installed a tap yet. You simply get your beer or trappist from a bottle. The café used to be an old farmhouse and has been serving as a café since 1850. Besides quenching their thirst, the regulars have primarily sought (and still seek) social contact there. The feeling that everyone knows everyone and thus treats everyone is very much present in In De Hengst. You can still play darts, the floors are true paintings, and going to the toilet really means 'going to the yard.' In the summer, you can also enjoy a magnificent view of the Vlaamse Ardennen on the terrace.
