Jan De Lichte was born in April 1723. Although there is not much light in his youth. His home must have been close to this Driesmolen and is one of dark poverty and marginality. At the age of fifteen, Jan quits at home. He has no intention of ending up like those who surround him: unhappy and malnourished. Time for revolt, time for Jan De Lichte!
