The Yser is a river in Belgium and France. It is the shortest of the three Belgian rivers that flow into the sea (the other two are the Meuse and the Scheldt) and the only river that flows into the sea in Belgium. The Scheldt and the Meuse flow into the sea in the Netherlands. The total length is 78 kilometers, with 45 in Belgium. The Yser is located in the Westhoek. The area between the Yser and the coast, to the west of the river, is called Bachten de Kupe.
