The Blarewater is a nature reserve in Nederzwalm-Hermelgem in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The area is two hectares in size and is managed by the Agency for Nature and Forests; it includes a meander of the Scheldt and willow thicket. The nature reserve is home to gadwall, mallard, tufted duck, coot and moorhen, among others. In the meander there are eels, rudd, carp, perch, pike and zander. Dragonfly, emperor dragonfly, wood-armoured damselfly, large heather dragonfly and lantern also live on the meander. You can also find cormorants, marsh harriers, sand martins, barn swallows and house martins. The nature reserve is freely accessible via the hiking trails and the hiking network 'Vlaamse Ardennen - Zwalmvallei'.
