The house was built in the second half of the 19th century by H.J. Pollenus, who was the mayor of Spalbeek. After him, Emile Polenus lived there, who also served as mayor of Spalbeek for 50 years.
It is a stately brick neoclassical mansion, the facade of which is adorned with pilasters and a pediment. The entrance door is reached via a staircase and a balustrade, with the railings featuring lions.
