The Schrieken is a nature reserve located in the south of Beerse and is about 13 ha in size. In the area we find fens, mixed deciduous forest, coniferous forests and grasslands with wood edges. There are several rare plant and animal species. The Schrieken, Diep and Epelaar complex is european protected as part of Natura 2000 area 'Forest and heathland areas east of Antwerp'.
