This vast area, of which the Bois de Chaumont is the central element, is located west of Namur, at the intersection of the national roads N90 and N922. Covering about thirty hectares, it was recently acquired by the municipality of Floreffe and includes forested areas, a wooded former quarry, poorly fertilized hay meadows, wastelands on limestone embankments, etc.
