Located in the Condroz region south of Ciney, just upstream from the Marie-Mouchon state nature reserve, the site consists of a string of 5 ponds situated within the Cresses woods. These bodies of water are owned by the municipality of Ciney and are managed quite extensively for fishing activities. Some feature interesting vegetation, notably fringes of reed beds and sedge zones, as well as aquatic herbaceous plants. The upper pond, regularly drained, shows groups of exposed mud. This pond is part of the natural reserve of the Ychippe Plain, as well as a few nearby small plots.
