Located in the Aisne valley, in the municipality of Durbuy, the site known as Thier d'Ozo-Lagelire comprises a set of dry meadows, calcareous grasslands, rocky outcrops, and slope forests of high biological value. The Thier d'Ozo specifically refers to the small nature reserve extending down a west-facing slope at the western end of the site, created at the initiative of Natagora as part of the Life Pays Mosan project. This area contains former calcareous pastures that have been reforested over time and whose restoration is ongoing. Facing southeast, the hedge meadows that follow the reserve towards Ozo, on the upper part of the right slope of the Aisne, do not have protection status but are also of interest due to their low level of enrichment; they are primarily used as pasture for the livestock of the well-known Ozo goat farm in the region. The rest of the valley slope is largely included in the Natura 2000 network and is occupied by an oak-lime forest rich in calcareous soils with female orchid (Orchis mascula) and digitated sedge (Carex digitata). Additionally, there is a limestone cliff where various xerophytic grassland plants thrive, including the horseshoe vetch (Hippocrepis comosa), hairy melic grass (Melica ciliata), and Lebanese chervil (Seseli libanotis). The wall lizard (Podarcis muralis), present on this cliff, is currently the only reported heritage animal species, but no faunal inventory has yet been conducted on this site, which is generally little frequented by naturalists.
