Description

The Sint-Lambertuskerk of Muizen was largely destroyed by Allied bombing on 23 November 1944. The V1 bomb in question only spared the tower that was later protected as a monument. Shortly after the end of the war, in 1949, traces of various old churches were found during an excavation campaign, the oldest of which dates from the 8th to 9th century. In the sixties Lucien Engels, with the collaboration of artists such as Rik Poot, designed a new church in modernist style.
