Description

Here stood the Pavilion of the Seven Stars. Already in 1656 a seven-sided pavilion was built here on an elevation (1656) which was at the same time Temple of Hercules and observatory . The viewing terrace was accessible via a movable staircase with wind shaft. In the basin around the pavilion there was water that, according to the principle of the communicating vessels, provided the necessary water pressure for the fountains and other hydraulic elements in the park. From the pavilion there were seven large and seven small alleys, each with their own tree species and landscape. The small avenues each led to a "stronghold" where there was a statue of gods. The whole thing was imbued with cosmological significance. The seven stars in the name refer to the planets known at that time.
