Already from the 13th century there was a simple chapel here that fell under the church of Weweler. In 1621 Balthasar von Pallandt had a new chapel built on this site, but the view as we know it today was determined in 1771 when the church was commissioned by Balthasar vol Pallandt to the design of architect Ferdinandn Starck from Recht. The church is almost always open. It is certainly worth taking a look inside. Particularly interesting are the mausoleum in black marble of Theux by the builder balthasar von Pallandt and the baroque altar.
