Herdersem is a village in the Belgian province of East Flanders and a borough of the city of Aalst. Herdersem has about 2500 inhabitants. Together with Baardegem, Meldert, and Moorsel, it is one of the four "Faluintjes municipalities". The place is located in the Dender region.
It borders Aalst, Moorsel, Hofstade, Gijzegem, and Wieze. Herdersem is particularly known for its very lively St. Anthony devotion and celebration during the weekend around the feast day of St. Anthony the Abbot.
