Description

The name of this wide avenue refers to Expo 58, one of the most successful world exhibitions ever. It was also the sixth official universal exhibition to be held in Belgium and the first after the Second World War. This exhibition was all about freedom and progress, so characteristic of the 1950s and 1960s. More than 42 million people visited the World Expo, which was opened by King Baudouin with a call for peace and social and economic progress.
