Mastendreef

Source: Nathan Rijnders

Description

The Mastendreef is the boundary of the Sterbos estate. There is no sign of masts anymore, but last century experimental black pine was planted. Now there are chestnut trees as far as the eye can see. This road was part of a smuggling route. However, during the war, the Germans stationed themselves here, and the men were always forced to hand over their smuggled goods. The women were left alone... naive?
