Along the quay of the Voirie on the left, you can see at the end a red brick building with a square tower. This is what remains of a larger ensemble dating from the second half of the 19th century called the Farm of the Sludges, where the organic waste of the Brussels residents was stored. This waste was evacuated by barges to the countryside where it was used as fertilizer.
