This is the 'Valley of the Three Streams'. Between 1900 and 1920 peat was cut to a depth of about 1.5m where half-decayed tree stumps were still found. In this layer blocks were drawn, after a drying time the peat was inserted and the blocks put on their side. These blocks, when almost dry, were stacked in mites. Iron ore was also mined in 't Broek. This was transported by trolley to 'the Zwarte Ring' or to the station in Deurne.
