The station was on the route of the first Belgian steam train connecting Brussels to Mechelen on 5 May 1835. This makes it one of the oldest railway stations on the European mainland and in Belgium.
Today, the railway line between Brussels and Antwerp is one of the busiest lines in our country.
At the entrance (side Rubenslaan) there is a spacious and free parking for cars and bicycles. The center of Eppegem is within walking distance (about 500 m).
