The Senne is a slow-flowing lowland river that rises in Besides in the municipality of Soignies and after 103 km flows into the Dyle in the so-called Zennegat near Mechelen. It is the only river in Belgium that flows through all 3 regions! In the Brussels Region, it flows in the open air for 5 km and is vaulted for 9 km. There are two projects for the opening up of the Senne, which should make it visible again over a total length of 1 km, in the city of Brussels and in Haren.
