The Thier de Coo is one of the toughest slopes in Belgium and would rank 163rd in the world. Usually the ascent is done from Stavelot. However, this resting place is on the road from Coo to Ster, at an altitude of about 400m. The climb continues up to 470m, but at this junction you can also go directly to Stavelot via Parfondry.
Nearby there is also a small war memorial to the deminer Rolabnd Albert Joseph.
