The forest path is deeper between high verges and slopes, it is a deep hollow road. When it is dry, the road is uneven and hard, but in rainy weather, or after a longer rainy season, it is muddy to deep mud here. There are traces of a tractor or similar vehicle. The road gets steeper and steeper, a steep climb. The steepest part has a gradient of 7.5%.

With its height of 158m, the Pottelberg is the highest hill in the Flemish Ardennes/Pays des Collines area.

It is a pity that three antenna masts have already been installed at this summit (one of the Belgian Air Force (the oldest), one of the Belgian Armed Forces and one of NATO), hence the -wrong - local name "Le Radar"). A little further on we find a tower ; of the U.S. Air Force this time. The dubious advantage that these human constructions offer is that the Pottelsberg can be recognized from tens of kilometers in circumference and they can therefore serve as a beacon for the lost tourist.
