In the 1980s, the foundations of the walls and quadrilateral towers of this fortress ruin were uncovered.
In the 13th and 14th centuries, the fort was a fief of the county of Loon. The owner did not have to answer to anyone and did not even have to pay inheritance tax.
A beautiful walk connects this site with the castle of Groenendaal. The hiking map "Hidden beauty" is available in our tourist information offices.
Cyclists should jump off between junctions 67 and 504.
