Sculpture in two stones from 2005 as part of the 2005 Belgian Symposium “Magnificence and intimacy of the landscapes of the central Ourthe”.
These two small granite sculptures (Sprimont and Gore-Belgian quarries) represent an initiation journey.
You see a character penetrating a stone wall , this wall symbolizes longevity, he is looking for spirituality.
At the end of life's path, he sees the spiritual light (the welcoming hand ) inscribed with the sign 'OM'.
Tibetan calligraphy stands for "OM", peace. The Japanese calligraphy on the side of the stone means "Justice and Peace". It is a connection with the place in Durbu, dey anticline, where the statues stand, which is called "Japanese place" .
Sculptor: Naja de Durbuy
Belgian Symposium 2005 "Size and intimacy of the landscapes of the middle Ourthe".
Steen is all over the Durbuy area. In 2005, as a tribute to this material, the idea of bringing together artists to work on the local stone was born. The presence of more than 50 monumental works , scattered today throughout the city, reminds us of the work of these artists.
