On the facade there is a memorial plaque commemorating that writer and war reporter Ernest Hemingway stayed here on December 44.
In the immediate vicinity is the Basilica of Saint-Hubert which was part of the abbey of. On the left side of the basilica is the Benedictine monastery, with the fountain in front.
Further on the place du Marché there is the statue of Redouté and the imposing hotel de ville.
