This commemorative plaque is on the facade of the town hall in Saint-Hubert.
It commemorates General Patton's 87th Infantry (Golden Acorn) who fought hard here in the winter of 1944-45 and liberated Saint-Hubeft.
The plate explicitly states that it is thanks to this infantry that the Nazis did not destroy the city.
Olivier Gillard has set up a small museum about this in rue du Mont 81. He became passionate about the Ardennes offensive by reading his grandfather's memoirs. The museum can only be visited by appointment.
