This fountain is located on the Vissersplein in Ostend.
In 1999 the Vissersplein became an amphitheater with breakwaters and a water fountain. People wanted more fountains in the city and there were enough breakwaters on the waterfront, why not in the city? The complex can be used for events and it seems that the place is appreciated by the people of Ostend.
But many tourists also like the fountain. While the parents enjoy a snack and a drink on the many neighboring terraces, the children venture into the water of the fountain.
