Above the front door of the Gravenkapel we see a sculpted angel in bas-relief. This relief was designed by Gustaaf Delafontaine. Below the Gravenkapel is a burial vault, which serves as the final resting place of Rogier de Kerchove de Denterghem († 1918) and his wife Cécile de Borchgrave d'Altena († 1926). The angel holds a shield in both hands. The dove with an olive branch is the emblem of the de Kerchove de Denterghem family. The two salmons are the emblem of the de Borchgrave d'Altena family. At the bottom, on a ribbon, we read the motto of the de Kerckhove de Denterghem family "ENDURER POUR DURER".
