At the end of the path in the cemetery in Sint-Pietersveld, on a height, there is a Calvary in a red brick niche under a slate saddle roof, a wooden cross with a painted plaster crucifix. In the eastern corner of the cemetery are several rows of concrete crosses of graves of victims of the Second World War.
The small cemetery was inaugurated in 1854 as the burial place of the 'Ecole de Réforme de Ruyslede'.
The cemetery was used for the burial of directors, staff members and in the early years also the lodgers of the institutions in Ruiselede and Beernem. Before the construction of the cemetery, between 1849 and 1853, the boys of the asylum were buried in the cemetery of Ruiselede. The nearby Veldkapelleke is part of the municipality of Wingene.
