This picnic spot is located at the forest chapel of Wildenburg.
The forest chapel in Wildenburg was built in 1877 by order of the van der Bruggen family. The chapel stands there in memory of Baron Charles van der Bruggen who was murdered in 1875 in Wildenburg by wild poachers. He lived in the castle "blauwhuis" next to the church and had the castle "Wildenburg" built in 1860, which was demolished in 1985.
