The war memorial in the cemetery next to the Saint Mauritus Church in Varsenare commemorates the military and civilian victims of the First and Second World War .
On the pedestal is a bronze statue of Saint Mauritius , dressed as a Roman soldier and leaning on his sword.
On the occasion of 100 years of the First World War and in memory of the fallen of this war, a plaque was placed with the text:
"1914 - 1918 - 2014 - 2018 / UNITY MAKES POWER / GRATEFUL MEMORY TO THEM / WHO FALLEN IN WORLD WAR FIRST / FOR FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY, / BECAUSE OF VICE-PRIME MINISTER AND / MINISTER OF COUNTRY DEFENSE PIETER DE CREM".
