Description

At the request of the Abbey of Orval , the architect Henri Vaes built the Cordemois bridge on the site of the ferry service.

This created a connection to the abbey « Notre Dame de Clairefontaine » . This is located three kilometers away on the former French fief that gave its name to this structure.

It wasn't a new idea. In 1909 and 1910, interior designer Georges Hobé had already drawn up two artistic projects, one of which was specifically « Art Nouveau ». The current building is a beautiful construction with slate side walls in Gothic style from 1935.

She has long been inspiring many artists.
