Did you know that Xavier Taveirne's parents founded Brasserie Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld? It was owned by the Taveirne family. In the following 12 years, the brasserie experienced difficult times.

How it all began for Urban Café…

“A few years ago we opened the Shelter in the renovated Zwin Nature Park, a bistrot in the middle of nature by the sea. We have decided on a new concept where customers order via an iPad or at the checkout. A place where nature and delicacies Everything is freshly prepared at home, so we collect the chickens ourselves for the well-known Vol au vent, we cook fresh soup every day, delicious fish dishes only with North Sea fish, ... in short, everything is purely natural .

When we heard that another beautiful place in nature was available, but this time in the Bulskampveld forest , we were thrilled... a few sleepless nights, lots of paper with ideas, a financial plan and exciting months to see if we would go .
