The municipality has an ecological community garden with 44 gardens in Hemelrijk opposite the former quarantine stables. With this project, we want to offer residents who have no garden or only a small garden the opportunity to grow their own vegetables. This leads to a healthier lifestyle and pleasant social contacts.
When gardening ecologically, you take nature as an example and strive for as much biodiversity as possible. Thus, you do not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides, but apply crop rotation to attract as few harmful organisms as possible. You can visit the garden during the open garden days in collaboration with Velt on June 3 and 4 from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
