The Menhir Danthine is a menhir near Wéris
The menhir is about a kilometer west of the village on the N841. In the vicinity is the Dolmen of Wéris one kilometer to the northeast , the Dolmen of Oppagne is located about 400 meters to the south - south - west and in and around the valley in which Wéris is located there are a number of other menhirs . The different megaliths in the area would form different alignments with each other that are parallel to each other.
The menhir stands on the edge of the main road from Érezée to Barvaux and has a height of almost four meters and weighs 8 tons . The menhir is attributed to the "Champ de la Longue Pierre" where two other menhirs stood. These are temporarily flat at Dolmen I, the dolmen of Wéris.
In 1948 , Hélène Danthine, professor of archeology at the University of Liège, had the stone placed about 130 meters away to protect it from destruction.
