This open chapel is located on the Grand Chemin in Beclers.
Inside the white-painted brick building is a small altar and a large cross.
The word chapel is derived from the Latin cappa = cloak, diminutive capella, and refers to the cloak of Saint Martin , bishop of Tours. Sint Maarten gave away his half cloak to a poor man, the half cloak became a relic and the room in which the cloak was kept was metonymically called capella or chapel. From the 7th century chapel became a name for a (small) place of worship.
