"Saint-Luc dessinant la Vierge" is a monumental ensemble in memory of Roger de le Pasture, created by Marcel Wolfers. It depicts Saint Luc drawing the Virgin and Child, near Notre-Dame Cathedral.
The image refers to a painting by Roger de la Pasture from 1435.
The idea of erecting a monument to Roger de le Pasture representing Saint Luke drawing the Virgin is linked to the publication of Jules Destrée's work on the Tournai painter in 1930. This statue was exhibited in the Belgian Art Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1935. Later it was deposited in the Hôtel Communal in Laeken.
