The sculpture, called “Play of Light”, made of lacquered steel and plexiglass , lives up to its name: the colored prisms of this work by Antoine Sion are reflected differently on the ground depending on the time of day.
The structure “plays with the architectural elements present in Tournai and the immediate vicinity of the ramparts, like a gigantic building game” . The colored prisms interact with light in such a way that they are reproduced differently on the ground depending on the time of day. Antoine Sion , a young father, says he was inspired by his childhood soul to create this luminous work.
The work was produced in 20123 as part of the European 'Design in Town' programme. It was launched in 2019 to improve the urban environment through design in the cities of Tournai, Kortrijk, Lille and Mons.
